Miles Ostander

I'd like to thank Activates Ministries for their generous scholarship, which will greatly help my family and I return to the mission field debt free! Upon completing school, we plan to return to the D.R. Congo to volunteer full-time with a remote Christian University working in community development.

May God bless all those who contributed to this scholarship for their generosity and encouragement.

I was so excited when I heard that I had won this scholarship. It is such a blessing to receive a gift like this that allows me to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher overseas. There are always extra expenses associated with being an Missionary Kid, such as flying across the world to be with family, and this money will help me continue my college degree and still be able to visit my family. I am excited to be returning for my third year of college, and am highly appreciative of this organization for aiding me in my journey of education. Read more about Sierra Sanchez

When you informed me that I was awarded the Activated Ministries Scholarship for Fall 2018, I
was completely ecstatic! I must have re-read your letter about two or three times just to make
sure it was real. Thank you, thank you, thank you all for making this possible for me! This last
year, I was at a crossroad of whether to continue my education in obtaining a BA in Child
Development or just settle for an AA in this field. I knew that with a BA I could do much, much

I am currently studying to be admitted to medical school to become a doctor. Throughout my time in school, I have done my best to work hard to pay for school, while also trying to be a light by serving in the surrounding community. Mission work can happen wherever you are, and I am involved in many different ministries serving the poor and needy n my city. This scholarship will allow me to devote more time to serving others and trying to reach my neighbors in the city of Lynchburg with the Gospel while also attending school. Vera Didenko

I am the first Ukrainian student in my university to receive a scholarship from an international organization. It was quite a complicated process to work out all the paperwork correctly, since my university never did this before, and I want to thank the Activated Ministries for all the extra work they had to do to process the paperwork. Now that it is done, though, it created a precedent for other students, and possibly will encourage some of them to not give up and look for ways to pay for their education in spite of the war and poverty in this country.
