Activated Ministries Scholarships

As of June, 2016, 284 scholarships have been awarded to qualifying individuals, for a total of $275,000. Since 2010, Activated Ministries’ In Recognition of Service Scholarships have provided tuition assistance to the children of current and former missionaries. Our goal is to honor those who have served on the mission field, for a minimum of 10 years, by assisting their children in the pursuit of their education. Individual scholarships range from $500 to $1500, averaging $1000.

Applications are received and processed each Spring and Fall. Maria Faquaharson

Teaching children has always been a great passion of mine. Throughout my 30 years of missionary service, I have always been involved in teaching in some form or another. My children have graduated from high school and my desire now is to teach underprivileged children and young people in third-world countries. My goal specifically is to teach children from primary school until they complete high-school and have a future in their career and academic life. Read more about Maria Faquaharson

Micah Burnham

I am currently studying to be admitted to medical school to become a doctor. Throughout my time in school, I have done my best to work hard to pay for school, while also trying to be a light by serving in the surrounding community. Mission work can happen wherever you are, and I am involved in many different ministries serving the poor and needy n my city. This scholarship will allow me to devote more time to serving others and trying to reach my neighbors in the city of Lynchburg with the Gospel while also attending school. Deborah Cruz

Thank you Activated Ministries for this opportunity to make a dream reality! My family and I are ecstatic and are incredibly grateful to know that I have been granted this scholarship; learning new languages and about new cultures is something I have always enjoyed. Now with this opportunity to become a translator I have been given wings to expand in my field or interest and hope to use this as a tool to help others. God bless you for giving me this opportunity! Vera Didenko

I am the first Ukrainian student in my university to receive a scholarship from an international organization. It was quite a complicated process to work out all the paperwork correctly, since my university never did this before, and I want to thank the Activated Ministries for all the extra work they had to do to process the paperwork. Now that it is done, though, it created a precedent for other students, and possibly will encourage some of them to not give up and look for ways to pay for their education in spite of the war and poverty in this country. Cherith Kuhn

Thank you so much for the scholarship! Receiving this grant makes it possible to continue in school through the hard financial times. This funding makes the extra time I spend outside of school doing homework worth the effort and time it takes. I will be graduating with my associates in Early Childhood Education at the end of this semester and going on to the Bachelors program. I know I would not have gotten this far without support. Thanks again! Read more about Cherith Kuhn
