Activated Ministries Scholarships

As of June, 2016, 284 scholarships have been awarded to qualifying individuals, for a total of $275,000. Since 2010, Activated Ministries’ In Recognition of Service Scholarships have provided tuition assistance to the children of current and former missionaries. Our goal is to honor those who have served on the mission field, for a minimum of 10 years, by assisting their children in the pursuit of their education. Individual scholarships range from $500 to $1500, averaging $1000.

Applications are received and processed each Spring and Fall. Follow the link for more information about eligibility and how to apply or read the stories of those around the globe who have been awarded an IROS scholarship. Vera Didenko

I am the first Ukrainian student in my university to receive a scholarship from an international organization. It was quite a complicated process to work out all the paperwork correctly, since my university never did this before, and I want to thank the Activated Ministries for all the extra work they had to do to process the paperwork. Now that it is done, though, it created a precedent for other students, and possibly will encourage some of them to not give up and look for ways to pay for their education in spite of the war and poverty in this country. Thank you so much for the scholarship! Receiving this grant makes it possible to continue in school through the hard financial times. This funding makes the extra time I spend outside of school doing homework worth the effort and time it takes. I will be graduating with my associates in Early Childhood Education at the end of this semester and going on to the Bachelors program. I know I would not have gotten this far without support. Thanks again! Read more about Cherith Kuhn

I'm so grateful for the sponsorship opportunity provided by IROS through Activated Ministries. Not only will it help me with completing my studies, but it takes me a step closer to achieving my long term educational and career goals. This program is a great benefit for individuals, like myself, who invested our younger years in charitable projects and ventures. Now, as we undertake our educational journey, while juggling work and family life, IROS provides a wonderful support to keep us forging ahead. Thank you to all who make this program possible! Thank you very much for this excellent news. This is a real answer to prayer. Receiving this scholarship will enable me to grow in my leadership abilities and refine my cross-cultural ministry skills. Having served as a missionary for twenty years since graduating from a bachelor’s program, this opportunity to return to study and critically reflect on missions practice and grow skills for the future is deeply appreciated.
