On December 21 and 23, 2011, we had the most wonderful experience of this year's humanitarian projects in Lima. Every year we organize “Sponsor a Book” program; distributing character building materials books in the poverty stricken areas of Lima. This year while planning the program we were thinking of who would appreciate those great books the most and so we decided to give them to hospitalized children. In December 2010 we couriered the first batch of Activated Ministries’ sponsored books to our two voluntary distributors in Zimbabwe. Our one local distributor, called Friday, lives in the Harare area, while our other distributor, Eddie, lives about 150 kilometres north of Harare in a country area. It was a drizzly, dismal, cold day after New Years, when we headed out to the two local pre-schools for underprivileged children; but we were armed with something bright and cheery for all those school kids at Head Start in south Texas. Read more about Spreading Christmas cheer in South Texas

Just a week before Christmas 2009, our volunteers visited the Port Isabel Housing Community Center for the underprivileged. The children at this facility participate inthe yearly toy drive for the orphans of Mexico, giving what little toys they have. In return for their unselfish giving, Activated Ministries sponsored 47 Christmas storybooks with accompanying audio CD’s to these needy children.

Building Bridges in Taiwan is a non profit organization comprised of missionaries and volunteers from The Family International. The Christmas season of 2008 was a very busy time for our volunteers as we conducted seven shows in an orphanage, several different hospitals throughout the Taipei and Taichung counties, and a home for the elderly.
