Therese D’Abadie
Just a week before Christmas 2009, our volunteers visited the Port Isabel Housing Community Center for the underprivileged. The children at this facility participate inthe yearly toy drive for the orphans of Mexico, giving what little toys they have. In return for their unselfish giving, Activated Ministries sponsored 47 Christmas storybooks with accompanying audio CD’s to these needy children.
Make a Wish
On December 8th, our volunteers were invited to the Make a Wish Christmas program in McAllen, Texas. We sang Christmas carols and did face painting for the terminally ill children and their families. We are thankful to have participated together in making this a very special event for these children with life-threatening medical conditions. Thank you so much, Activated Ministries, for the 100 sponsored Christmas story books and CD’s, which added a meaningful touch to this program.
Moody Center
On December 18th, we were invited to a Christmas gala party at Moody Center in Brownsville, Texas. There were many festivities including Christmas carolers, cookies, SantaClaus, kid's activities and gifts from Activated Ministries! A box of 53 Grandpa Jakes Christmas books with matching audio CD’s were given to all the grateful kids. These are children who are in need of physical, occupational or speech therapy.
Ronald McDonald House Charities
During this Christmas season, we had the privilege of being invited to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Texas. We were again able to distribute many items, generously supplied by Activated Ministries. The CD Bible Explorers was given the children staying there, while their siblings are being hospitalized nearby at the Valley Baptist Hospital. Also donated to the children this holiday season were the beautiful Grandpa Jake's Christmas Special books with audio CD’s. The music CD Fear Not was also given to the Ronald McDonald Library, to comfort the parents and families of these hospitalized children.
Thank you again, Activated Ministries, for your generous help this year to those in need!
