5,000 books for the children of Juárez, Mexico

Joseph Jones

We recently received a phone call from Antonio, an old friend of ours who owns a seafood restaurant. Because he grew up as an orphan, he has always wanted to help the orphans and those that were economically disadvantaged. He asked us if we could perform our clown and puppet show for the orphans and kids on the “Dia Del Nino” (Day of the Child) here in Mexico. He explained that he was able to secure a location for this event at Poliforo Juan Gabriel: a hall that could hold 10,000 people. Read more about 5,000 books for the children of Juárez, Mexico

Books and teaching aids to low income Filipino schools

Jonah Bishop

During Christmas 2011, our volunteers had the goal of helping at least 1,000 children from poor areas in Taguig, Phillipines. We contacted the DSWD (Dept. of Social Welfare) and discovered that there are 130 government run day care centers for poor children with approximately 10,000 children enrolled. So we went ahead and with the help of the DSWD and Barangay (town) officials we arranged two events in which four towns would be involved, with a total of 17 Day Care centers and around 1050 children. Educational tools to an underserved Filipino community

Jonah Bishop

Out of every 100 Filipino children, roughly 10 never enter a classroom at all. For every 100 pupils that enter first grade, only 42 will graduate high school. According the 2009 Pulse Asia report, 26% of all Filipinos have no formal education, or no more than elementary education. In a seemingly unavoidable situation, these children will grow up to join the ranks of the desperately poor. Read more about Educational tools to an underserved Filipino community

We want to express our thankfulness to Activated Ministries for making possible once again an important contribution to the children of the neediest sectors of Peru.

Our mission is to raise the quality of life and education of the children in this country and one of the major contributions that we have been making during these years is through the distribution of audio/visual material from “Aurora Productions”. These materials promote values and positive attitudes in an entertaining way and are well-received by the children. Read more about Music and laughter at an extreme poverty zone in Peru

Peru’s public school system faces pressing needs for proper educational resources.
