Sunny Days at the Gulu Orphan School

A few late March tid-bits from our favorite orphan school in Gulu.

I got the opportunity to pop in on some of our orphans who have graduated and are currently studying at one of the top Secondary School. All four of our star students are orphans or had been abandoned as children and overcame great difficulties and lack of education to get to where they are now. Ochen, Opoko, Bill and Ceasar are such earnest students, who always do their best to be at the top of their classes. It's wonderful to see them doing so great and makes me proud! Snakes and Malaria

The children are all now back and Term 2 has just began. You can see the boys here slashing the grass at dawn, (when it’s easiest) as rainy season has begun. It rains mostly at night while days are hot and sunny—a perfect mix when the grass is so rich and green, yet the day is conducive to studies, work on the farm and play. Please pray with us against snake bites and malaria as both are now kicking in at this time of the year. Michael was working in the farm last Wednesday and fell and fainted. Finally.... A "Home" For the Orphans

It’s been a big jump from last year economically, where we were simply day-schooling the orphans while we refurbished the school building, and the children would return to their guardians every evening. This year, the Lord has done, hmm, I was going to say unbelievable miracles. That’s probably an oxymoron but they have been so outstanding, we honestly stand in awe at all He’s done. We now supply full housing for 88 dear children, the staff, and 3 meals a day for all. For most dear kids it’s the first time in their lives they’ve been able to eat on such a regular basis.
