Aid to Saharaui Refugee Camps- Part 2

One thing that brings meaning to my life and makes me fight to make it happen is our yearly visit to the refugee camps in the Sahara desert. Its hard to imagine in a developed world with the latest technologies at our fingertips what life is like in the camps. Our first night upon arrival is such an emotional time, as we  meet our friends, exchange hugs and kisses, sleep under the stars, and feel the cold breeze of the desert night... And this is just the beginning.

Sending Comfort to Tsunami Victims

To all those at Activated Ministries,

I want to again thank you for your kind offer to help with the costs of the various inspirational and enriching audio and visual materials as well as the uplifting printed Word for the tsunami victims and survivors in Phuket.

Relief Update from Banda Aceh, Sumatra

For the last 3 days we have been in the city and also in the rural areas, distributing the 700 kilos of aid that we brought and doing whatever we can to help.

A Personal Account - Tsunami Relief

By the time I arrived in Phuket, coworkers Hanna and Mike had already been there for a couple of days, and had helped with–among other things—translating and orientation for Scandinavian relatives of some of those that were missing.

Report on Tsunami Relief Work - Phuket Thailand

Arriving in Phuket, we first went to the city hall which was the coordination center for the relief efforts in the area. The atmosphere there was one of desperation and uncertainty as relatives searched for missing loved ones and rescue teams headed out to the worst hit areas to look for survivors—or more likely, the bodies of those who had perished in the disaster. Bulletin boards lined the driveway and hallways, covered with pictures of those who had not yet been found.

Healing Hearts’ Distribution of Character-Building Curriculum in Serbia and Kosovo

Anna Wormus

What better reward could anyone want than to see the smiling face on a thankful child? This was the overwhelming emotion we felt throughout the implementation of our latest Healing Hearts Balkans book distribution project.

Healing Hearts' preliminary trip to Kosovo

Anna Wormus

Having overcome several hurdles with the layout and design of the 3 books that make up our Bonton za Decu (Manners for Children) character-building curriculum, we were thankful when our chosen printer was able to give us a date that was compatible with our planned itinerary to go to Kosovo to pick up the first batch of books. He had been extremely busy with November being the Christmas rush, so even though he was only able to have 100 sets of books bound in time for our departure, we felt this amount would be sufficient for our first distribution push.
