Japan Tsunami Relief

The Phoenix project is aimed to bring encouragement and a personal touch along with material aid to refugees from the earthquake and tsunami that devastated much of the northeastern coast of Japan.

This project brought together professional clowns from Tokyo, the Band Aid Band and other volunteer workers in an effort to bring smiles to the faces of hundreds who had lost their homes or were forced to evacuate due to the Fukushima nuclear power plant failure.

Second Japan Tsunami Mission

On this trip we visited three centers in Matsushima area; the Satohama Evacuation Center, Ooshio Shimin Center, and Ono Shimin Center. We’re very thankful for all who sent supplies and funds for this trip, and for those who prayed for us; and a big thank-you to Mrs. Yoshida who transported the supplies. English Summer Camp for Japan Tsunami Refugees

Many lives were affected by the earthquake of March 11th; among those were the mothers of Higashimatsushima. During summer vacation, mothers of Higashimatsushima take their children to Nobiru beach. Christmas in tsunami-stricken Japan

Last summer (August 2011), we invited people from the parents and children’s club in Higashi-Matsushima (one of the earthquake-stricken areas) to our friend's villa. This vacation was made possible through the support of many kind people who donated their time, skills, and goods in order to make this happen.            Read more about Christmas in tsunami-stricken Japan

Activated Ministries sponsors Ongoing Programs for Tsunami Survivors

Earlier in 2012, we visited the temporary housing areas in Miyako-shi Tarou-machi, which had been constructed in the wake of the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami, and we were shocked at the amount of people still living in temporary housing units in this large area. As the Christmas season approached, I knew we needed to visit that area again. Due to its location in the northern part of Tohoku, volunteers visiting that area are rare.
