Activated Ministries Scholarships

As of June, 2016, 284 scholarships have been awarded to qualifying individuals, for a total of $275,000. Since 2010, Activated Ministries’ In Recognition of Service Scholarships have provided tuition assistance to the children of current and former missionaries. Our goal is to honor those who have served on the mission field, for a minimum of 10 years, by assisting their children in the pursuit of their education. Individual scholarships range from $500 to $1500, averaging $1000.

Applications are received and processed each Spring and Fall. I was so excited when I heard that I had won this scholarship. It is such a blessing to receive a gift like this that allows me to pursue my dream of becoming a teacher overseas. There are always extra expenses associated with being an Missionary Kid, such as flying across the world to be with family, and this money will help me continue my college degree and still be able to visit my family. I am excited to be returning for my third year of college, and am highly appreciative of this organization for aiding me in my journey of education.

Teaching children has always been a great passion of mine. Throughout my 30 years of missionary service, I have always been involved in teaching in some form or another. My children have graduated from high school and my desire now is to teach underprivileged children and young people in third-world countries. My goal specifically is to teach children from primary school until they complete high-school and have a future in their career and academic life.

Thank you Activated Ministries for this opportunity to make a dream reality! My family and I are ecstatic and are incredibly grateful to know that I have been granted this scholarship; learning new languages and about new cultures is something I have always enjoyed. Now with this opportunity to become a translator I have been given wings to expand in my field or interest and hope to use this as a tool to help others. God bless you for giving me this opportunity!

Thank you so much for the scholarship! Receiving this grant makes it possible to continue in school through the hard financial times. This funding makes the extra time I spend outside of school doing homework worth the effort and time it takes. I will be graduating with my associates in Early Childhood Education at the end of this semester and going on to the Bachelors program. I know I would not have gotten this far without support. Thanks again!
